It is very important to secure
your wireless network through a strong password, so nobody can have an
unauthorized access to your network. But what if you forget or lose your
wireless password? Can you recover it? If you have administrative privileges to
your user account, then you certainly can!
To do this, right-click on the
Network Icon from your Desktop, and click Properties. Meanwhile, if you don’t
have Network System icon on your Desktop, then press Windows+R key to open
run command, and type NCPA.CPL in the open box, and press OK.
This will then open the Network
Connection window. Now, right-click on your Wireless adapter, and then click
Status. Click Wireless Properties button, and then click Security tab. Here you
will see all of your wireless network security information like, Security Type,
Encryption Type, and the Network Security key that have been assigned in
asterisk mode. Below you will see the “Show Characters” check box. Make a check
mark and your network security key will be visible to you.
You can also access the same
Security window by right-clicking on Wireless icon in System Tray, and then
click “Open Network and Sharing Center”. Click your Wi-Fi connection, and then
click Wireless Properties button. Click Security tab, and make a check mark on
Show Characters.
